Second Opinions

Sometimes a second opinion is called for. The diagnosis may be unclear or complicated. You or your therapist may be uncertain about next steps. Second opinions include: medical records review, review of medications for appropriateness, and recommendations for the best treatment options. This is especially important where there may be both a psychiatric and a substance abuse disorder present. Beyond the confirmation of diagnoses, second opinions can provide reassurance that the recommended treatment plan is appropriate. It is also a chance to ask questions and better understand what treatment options are available. Your therapist or physician can arrange for a second opinion or you may call Dr. Melamed directly. At your request, Dr. Melamed will forward his findings to your therapist or physician.
